Enterprise Metals Limited has assembled an experienced and well-respected board and management team comprising Dr Allan Trench, Mr Dermot Ryan, Dr Changshun Jia, Mr Chris Stevens and Mr Graeme Smith.
Dr Allan Trench - Non-Executive Chairperson
Dr Allan Trench was appointed Non-Executive Chairman on 12th October 2016. Dr Trench holds a BSc (Hons) Geology from the Royal School of Mines and a PhD (Geophysics) from Glasgow University. He was a Research Fellow (Geophysics) at Oxford University and then at the University of Western Australia (UWA). He also completed an MBA (Distinction) at Oxford University and an MSc (Distinction) in Mineral Economics at the WA School of Mines. He is a Professor at the UWA Business School and at the Centre for Exploration Targeting, UWA. He is Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy and a non-executive director of several Australian-listed resources companies. Dr Trench has been involved in a number of significant mineral deposit discoveries.
Mr Dermot Ryan - Non-Executive Director
Mr Ryan is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy with Chartered Professional (CP) accreditation in the discipline of Geology, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and is a graduate from Curtin University in Western Australia. He has over 40 years’ experience in the discovery of gold, base metals, iron ore, diamond and uranium deposits. He spent 20 years with the CRA (Rio Tinto) group of companies, including ten years as Chief Geologist for CRA Exploration in various parts of Australia and was then GM Exploration for Great Central Mines / Normandy Yandal Operations and Johnsons Well Mining NL (renamed Regis Resources Ltd) in the 5 year period up to 2001. Between 2005 and 2013, Mr Ryan variously occupied the roles of Executive Director, CEO and Non-executive Director of Legend Mining Ltd. Over the past 17 years he has also acted as a mineral exploration consultant to private and public exploration companies in Western Australia. Mr Ryan was Managing Director of Enterprise Metals between October 2008 and 12 December 2018, and was Executive Director and Acting CEO of ASX listed Alto Metals Limited between June 2013 and 26 February 2019.
Dr Changshun Jia - Non-Executive Director
Dr Jia is a geologist with extensive global mineral and mining industry experience in Asia, South America, Africa and Australia. Dr Jia has been pivotal in the successful exploration of the Sandstone Greenstone Belt by Alto Metals Ltd, which has attracted strong corporate interest and resulted in multiple takeover offers for Alto Metals Ltd from third parties. Dr Jia was previously General Manager of Minera Altamira Chile, South America and senior management of Enterprise Metals Ltd. Dr Jia is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and registered geologist of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, with expertise in mineral exploration and mining. Dr Jia is also a founder and director of Luna Resources Pty Ltd, providing corporate and technical advisory services to public and private entities. Dr Jia has a BSc in Hydrogeology & Engineering Geology from North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, China, and a PhD in Economic Geology from the University of Science & Technology, Beijing.
Mr Chris Stevens - Non-Executive Director
Mr Stevens is a multi-lingual, highly numerate resource industry executive with core skills in resource company strategy, corporate finance and economic modelling. He is currently the CEO and Executive Director of Coda Minerals Ltd, an ASX listed company with copper-cobalt, and copper-gold exploration projects located in South Australia. Prior to co-founding Coda Minerals, Chris held senior commercial roles across resources, private equity and management consulting. Mr Stevens holds an Honours degree from the University of Oxford, a Master of Science in Mineral Economics with Distinction from Curtin University and is a fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Mr Graeme Smith - Company Secretary
Mr Smith is a corporate governance & finance professional with over 25 years’ experience in accounting and company administration. He is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the Governance Institute of Australia. He is the principal of Wembley Corporate which provides Company Secretarial, CFO, and Corporate Governance services to public and private companies.
